How Quit Vaping Gradually Works: Sessions, Waiting Times and Progress
Quit Vaping Gradually is a tracking app built around a gradual, session-based plan. It gives each day a target, spaces planned sessions over time and keeps a record you can review before deciding what comes next.
This page describes the functions published for Quit Vaping Gradually. It does not refer to Alive, the separate app for cigarettes.
1. Turn repeated use into clear sessions
The app starts with a simple unit: a vape session. One session is a distinct period in which you pick up the device, use it and then put it away.
This avoids requiring an exact count of every puff. Sessions are not presented as identical or converted into an estimated puff total; they provide a consistent way to record separate moments of use.
2. Follow a daily target
The daily view shows the session target for the day and how many sessions remain. This makes the plan visible without asking you to reconstruct the total from memory.
The target works as a reference. The record can still include a day that differs from the plan, so later comparisons are based on what actually happened.
3. See the next planned time
Quit Vaping Gradually displays the waiting time until the next planned session. As the plan progresses, sessions are spaced farther apart over time.
The timer answers a practical question—when is the next planned entry?—without requiring you to calculate the schedule repeatedly during the day.
4. Record an early session
If you vape before the planned time, the session can still be logged. It remains part of the daily history rather than disappearing from the record.
Keeping early sessions visible helps the review reflect both the schedule and the actual timeline.
5. Keep an active session available
The current published version allows an active session to be minimized and expanded. This lets you move through the app while keeping the session accessible.
When the session is complete, it becomes part of the day’s history and updates the remaining count.
6. Review the day and its timeline
The day details provide a timeline and session history. You can use that view to see when entries occurred and how the day compared with its target.
The purpose of the history is comparison: starting point, current phase, planned timing and recorded timing.
7. Move through weekly phases
The gradual plan is organized into phases. At the end of a weekly phase, you can advance or repeat it.
Repeating a phase keeps the same step available for another review period. Advancing moves the plan forward. You remain in control of that choice and the pace.
8. Let the plan adjust as the total decreases
The published app description states that the plan adjusts as you reduce the recorded number of sessions. The daily rhythm, target and planned spacing work together as the schedule changes.
The app tracks the sessions entered into the plan; it does not calculate the amount consumed.
What you can see at a glance
- the current daily session target;
- the number of sessions remaining;
- the waiting time until the next planned session;
- an option to record an early session;
- the day timeline and session history;
- progress across the current plan;
- the option to advance or repeat a weekly phase.
What the app does not require
The session method does not require you to count every puff or pretend that every period of use is identical. It also does not force one universal pace. The schedule is designed to be reviewed and adjusted through the plan.
